As one of the key pillars of “We are all smart placemakers”, “Greater Talents” represents the PEOPLE aspect of the whole placemaking roadmap. Join our interview with Anna Thompson, HR&A Director to learn more about her vision for Greater Talents to get inspired!
What does “Greater Talents” mean to you?
“Everyone has the opportunity to grow and develop in the company.”
Greater talents to me is all about how we can enable a more inclusive learning and development such that everyone has the opportunity to grow and develop in the company.
People is the most important aspect of our company. Swire Properties is built based on the experience and knowledge of our staff, and as a people-centric team we must look at how we can upskill our capabilities to achieve our overall business strategies.
#Engage, #Nurture, #Empower – the golden triangle
“To make our staff feel enabled and empowered to make decision and changes, it is imperative that they feel engaged, are equipped with the right skills, and are placed in the right working culture. “
First, it is to ensure that they are well-equipped with the skills of the future through developing their capability and digital knowledge. To go beyond this is how we can nurture a sense of appreciation and belonging, as well as a culture of innovation, collaboration and agility – to enable all our staff to excel and reach their full potential at work.
With empowerment, we often want to ask the question of “How can we create an environment where we can empower every single level of staff to make a difference and to make change happen?”
Engage is the most fundamental element of all, we must get our staff engaged in order to get the best out of them. Linking back to the overall Greater Talents vision – how we can make sure everyone is aligned on what we want to achieve and engaged on achieving them?
There is most definitely an intricate link between the 3: in order to make our staff feel enabled and empowered to make decision and changes, it is imperative that they feel engaged, are equipped with the right skills, and are placed in the right working culture.
What makes a good “Greater Talents” idea?
“ALL ideas, big or small, accepted or rejected are of great value to our company, but group efforts could be a big PLUS.”
The best ideas often stem from cross-team collaborations with members with diverse background as they bring additional value and perspective to the team. With these added discussions amongst the team, it really demonstrates to us that these ideas and solutions are well thought through with careful considerations.
Lastly, ALL ideas, big or small, accepted or rejected are of great value to our company, it helps us to understand your pain points and to get a perspective on the thoughts and creative ideas of our staff. So, START SUBMITTING YOURS NOW!
